While works take place in the town centre, this much-loved and iconic monthly Sunday market will now pop up by the ocean. With everything you love still in ‘stall’.
Byron Bay, June 2025 – The monthly Byron Community Market is temporarily shifting to a new location from Sunday 6 July, with the market set to continue on the first Sunday of every month throughout Byron Shire Council’s drainage works in the town centre.
“We’ve always said the market is more than a location, it’s a feeling,” says Carl Taylor, Byron Markets Manager. “We’re returning to our much-loved beachfront site for a time, maintaining continuity of our monthly market and supporting our stallholders and community with music, great products and delicious food and drinks.”
Just a short walk from the previous site, Main Beach offers a beautiful, familiar setting with the same welcoming atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy a relaxed day by the sea, browsing a curated mix of stalls featuring local arts, ceramics and fashion, along with fresh local food, live music and the vibrant Byron spirit the market is known for.
“This market is not just a place to shop,” adds Taylor. “It’s a place to connect with Byron’s people and local artists, sharing the unique culture and creativity that makes Byron special. We’re grateful to Byron Shire Council for their support in helping us relocate smoothly and continue delivering something meaningful for the community.”
The move ensures the Byron Community Market can continue without disruption, offering the community an accessible, open-air location just steps from the sand. The Byron Markets team is working closely with stallholders to ensure a seamless transition and maintain the market’s vibrant experience that locals and visitors love.
“We’re excited to welcome you to our beachfront location,” says Taylor. “Join us at this iconic site to enjoy the original Byron market vibe – every month.”
The first Byron Community Market at the new location will take place:
Date: Sunday 6 th July, 2025
Time: 8am – 2pm
Location: Main Beach
