The Byron Bay Surf Festival is set to return from August 15-18, 2024, promising an exciting lineup of events that celebrate surf culture, environmental sustainability, and community spirit. This year’s theme, “rewildering,” focuses on reconnecting with nature and promoting environmental stewardship.

Festival Highlights

Surf Competitions: Local and international surfers will showcase their talents in various divisions, including the Wategos Wizards events and the Freestyle & Stoke sessions.
Workshops and Talks: Experts will discuss ocean conservation, sustainable living, and surf culture.
Art Installations and Film Screenings: Celebrating the intersection of art and surfing at McTavish.
Live Music and Parties: Featuring the iconic Tracks Party with headliners and other bands to be announced.

SurfAid Women’s Cup
The second annual SurfAid Women’s Cup on August 16 will highlight the talent of female surfers and support SurfAid’s mission to improve health and well-being in remote regions.

McTavish Trim
Returning for the first time since 2018, the McTavish Trim event will feature top longboarders demonstrating their skills.

Competitor Entries
Entries open on June 27, encouraging surfers to register early.
