Byron Bay Surf Festival – September 8 – 11

Founded in 2010, the Byron Bay Surf Festival (BBSF) showcases core and creative surf culture by presenting innovative and experiential ideas through unique and engaging experiences. BBSF has a clear path towards reducing environmental impacts through education with a curated Festival of likeminded vendors & special guests, as well as a no-single-use plastics policy.

Sydney Comedy Festival Showcase – September 10

The Sydney Comedy Festival Showcase Tour will be tearing up the freeways of Australia to bring the best of the 2022 Festival to Byron Bay! Expertly curated and lovingly presented, the Showcase will feature some of the Festival’s hottest acts live on stage for an incredible two hours of hard-hitting laughter.

Spring School Holidays in Byron Bay

Queensland holidays run 16 September through 4 October, NSW holidays run 23 September through 10 October. This is an excellent time to visit Byron for a day trip, a few nights, even a week or more.

National Circus Festival – September 26 through October 2

National Training Program 26 – 29 September. Enjoy four days of intensive circus training across a vast array of specialities from Australia’s best trainers and performers. Connect and learn from others in your field or collaborate with complementary practitioners, discover new skills and create something fresh.

Festival Weekend 30 September – 2 October. Includes internationally-acclaimed acts by Australia’s leading artists at one of our two big tops, The Famous Spiegeltent, aerial rigs, studios or under the fig trees.
