It’s winter in Byron Bay, but from the last few days weather wise, you wouldn’t know it.
Whale season has started strong with plenty of active sightings from the whale watching tours, up at the lighthouse and out on a dolphin kayak tour.

May through October – Whale Watching
The first migrating Humpback Whales can possibly be sighted in May, and there are plenty around already with tours offering free return trips if they don’t spot a whale.
1-4 June – Byron Comedy Festival

3 June – Festival of the Stone
Held at Stone & Wood’s Byron Bay brewery, The Beautiful Girls head up a musical line up that spans across two stages and celebrates a night of community coming together, with all profits from the event going to Byron charity, Fletcher Street Cottage.
The King’s birthday long weekend 10-12 June

Byron Music Festival Side Events 16-18 June
Over three days Byron Music Festival hosts a diverse line-up of all-local musicians throughout venues including Treehouse at Belongil, The Great Northern Hotel, Byron Bay Services Club, Saltwater Social Club, and an iconic beachfront event in Dening Park. Spanning all genres and demographics, the program is designed to appeal to and be accessible to locals.
Byron Music Festival 17 June
BMF is back to celebrate iconic and emerging music of Bundjalung Country and beyond! The main event at Dening Park, 11am – 8.30pm on Saturday 17 June is a family friendly festival overlooking Main Beach Byron Bay with over 33 acts + food and craft markets.
