The small strip of sand on the shore of Torakina is ideal for sunbathing, picnicking, and building sandcastles. A few spots on the sand are shaded by the surrounding trees – some of which are excellent for climbing.

The grassy bushland around Torakina, known as Torakina Park, offers picnic tables, toilets, taps, showers, and barbecues.
