Mark your calendar for Byron Writers Festival 2022, set to take place this August 26 — 28 at a new site, the beautiful North Byron Parklands. The 2022 Festival will be a welcome return for Australia’s most popular regional literary Festival, which was cancelled due to Covid in both 2020 and 2021. More than 100 writers and thinkers will come to the Byron Shire in August to share stories, ideas and the power of words with festival audiences.

The Festival’s new Artistic Director, Zoe Pollock says “I can’t wait to create a special event for those who love literature and stories to meet their favourite authors, discover brilliant new books and soak up the atmosphere of being in a place where ideas are cherished.”

“North Byron Parklands is home to world class music events including Splendour in the Grass and Falls Festival, and it caters to boutique cultural and community events year-round. Its green open spaces and beautiful natural surroundings are fertile ground for an event such as Byron Writers Festival and we look forward to welcoming our audiences to this stunning site, on the land of the Minjungbal people of the Bundjalung Nation.” says Adam van Kempen, Chair of Byron Writers Festival.

“North Byron Parklands is thrilled to host such an iconic and culturally significant event as the Byron Writers Festival. The concept of holding a festival founded on storytelling, ideas and information exchange complements the variety of other key small and large events held at our beautiful venue.” says Mat Morris, General Manager of Parklands.
