After sell out performances six years running, this informal, diverse collective of some of Byron Shire’s powerful, creative women and non-binary people with vaginas, are presenting their pieces – some are personal or professional or political stories, which inspire and educate, empower and support.

It’s funny, sad, courageous, challenging and celebratory.

Vaginas, the most powerful body part on the planet. Giving pleasure, giving life, experiencing pain, and desired and exploited everyday.

Part of the V-Day global revolution to end violence against women and children.

Following Monday morning’s Main Beach V-Day flashmob, the women use spoken word, dance, song and comedy to share their experiences and inspire and empower others.

Vagina ConVersations is funny, sad, exciting, challenging, and celebratory, and is a more contemporary evolution of the Vagina Monologues, bringing a courageous fresh local flavour to our community.

Proceeds to Women’s Resource Service – Byron Escape Fund, supporting Byron Shire women escaping intimate partner and family violence. Financing women in crisis to pay for emergency accommodation, keeping women and children safe. Approximately 100 women were murdered in the last 12 months by their intimate partners.
