From the Catholic guilt-soaked streets of Waterford, Ireland, and raised on a steady diet of Home & Away and Crocodile Dundee, Ian found himself on a one-way flight Down Under at 18 years old.

He landed in Australia in 2005 with nothing but a backpack, a surfboard, and a carton of duty-free ciggies. What more could a young lad need to make it?
