What would you do if 7,000 people suddenly showed up in your town with no place to stay? Come From Away the Tony and Olivier award-winning musical tells the remarkable true story of a tiny town with a huge heart that welcomed the world.In the immediate aftermath of 9/11, 38 planes full of stranded people were diverted to the small Canadian town of Gander in Newfoundland. A small remote community on an outpost island off the east coast of mainland Canada. Or, as locals call it, “The Rock”. The local community swung into action, taking care of their unexpected guests, who came from every corner of the world.

In a time that too often paints difference as division, stranger as enemy, this incredible story underlines our profound unity and delivers with such heart and warmth. The characters are true, and you will fall in love with them all. Their stories are real and their songs will sit within you, deep and full-throttle emotions both uplifting and heart-wrenching.
