14 February 2023: V-Day Byron Bay

We gather at 6.30 for a 7am dance at, Main Beach Byron Bay, to protest global violence against women and children. Wear red. Bring banners and a friend. Proudly part of OneBillionRising! Men welcome as supporters

6-10 April 2023: Byron Bay Bluesfest

Australia’s most awarded music festival, returns for the Easter Long Weekend. This year’s headliners include Gang of Youths, Paolo Nutini, Tash Sultana, Bonnie Raitt, The Doobie Brothers, Buddy Guy, and more. Plus 5 licensed bars, over 100 food and market stalls, undercover food courts, beer gardens, and children’s entertainment.

11-14 May 2023: Byron Triathlon

Iconic in destination, with a spectacular ocean swim, combined with Byron’s much-loved party atmosphere… it’s easy to see why the Byron Bay Tri is one of Australia’s favourite end of season celebrations. Known for its traditional Olympic race, and an annual Teams gathering. Sprint, Kids and Aquabike are the new growing events.

1-4 June 2023: Byron Comedy Festival

Get yourself ready for the transformative healing power of laughter when their fifth event, brings the best of comedy from the National and International circuit to Byron Bay. This long weekend of wonderment happens at the Byron Surf Club, transformed into Australia’s most Easterly comedy Club

14 – 18 June 2023: Byron Bay Music Festival

The main event will be taking place on the 17th of June. Byron Music Festival is an all-ages, community, live music event that embodies the spirit of Byron Bay. 100% local lineup and the only music festival held in the Byron Bay township.

21-23 July 2023: Splendour in the Grass

Considered to be Australia’s biggest winter music festival, Splendour has evolved from a boutique one day festival held at Belongil Fields on the outskirts of Byron to a three day extravaganza of big name bands and new Australian music now held at North Byron Parklands, a dedicated site 15 minutes north of Byron.

11-13 August 2023: Byron Writers Festival

More than 100 writers and thinkers will come to the Byron Shire in August to share stories, ideas and the power of words with festival audiences. Taking place at a new site, Bangalow Showground.

24-27 August 2023: Byron Bay Surf Festival

The multi-day festival activates several events including surfing, art, music, film, special guests and environmental aspects with an awareness and focus on sustainability, education and innovation.

2 September 2023: Sample Food Festival

This will be our 10th Anniversary event, a taste of Northern NSW. Join us for $5 and $10 tasting plates from the region’s top restaurants, some of the best beverages Northern New South Wales has to offer, browse the market stalls and participate in our series of festival workshops. Live music, Guest Chefs and more to be announced including pop-up events.

20-29 October 2023: Byron Bay Film Festival

Held across multiple venues, the Byron Bay Film Festival (BBFF) is a platform for outstanding independent film talent, showcasing a uniquely rich and diverse program of entertaining, inspiring and thought provoking films. It’s a festival that fuses artistry, education and innovation, enhancing our worldview and collective social dialogue through the power and storytelling of film.

2-5 November 2023: Byron Latin Fiesta

30+ Latin Dance Workshops, 20+ Performances, Live Bands, Latin DJs, Master Classes, a Pre-Party, a Pool Party, After-Parties & Stall Holders. Dance styles include: Salsa, Bachata, Zouk, Kizomba, Tango, Reggaeton, Afro, Samba & more! The event caters to beginners and seasoned dancers alike and everyone is welcome. Bring your friends!
