Byron Bay will come alive with Latin music, dance and culture when the Byron Latin Fiesta returns from Thursday 29 October to Sunday 1 November 2026. Now in its 21st year, the Fiesta is recognised as Australia’s longest-running Latin dance festival. The four-night, three-day program brings together dancers, teachers, performers, musicians and DJs from Australia and overseas for a lively weekend of workshops, performances and social dancing. More than 30 workshops will cover styles including Cuban salsa, bachata, kizomba, zouk, tango, reggaeton, Afro-Cuban dance and rueda. Sessions cater to a range of experience levels, with a dedicated Beginners Hub offering newcomers an accessible introduction to the Latin dance community. The festival begins with a Thursday evening pre-party before moving into a full weekend program. Friday’s opening night features workshops, food, performances and social dancing, while Saturday combines a day of workshops with the Fiesta’s main event at Club Byron. Saturday night will feature performances, DJs and live music from Brisbane-based Latin band Chukale. A Cuban salsa musicality workshop with live percussion is also included in the weekend program. On Sunday, the dancing continues with another full workshop schedule, followed by a tango workshop and milonga before the closing-night party.

Two venues in the heart of Byron Bay

The 2026 Fiesta will operate across two central Byron Bay venues. Daytime workshops will be held at Marvell Hall, while Club Byron will host the Friday, Saturday and Sunday night parties. The venues are approximately a seven-minute walk apart and close to the centre of town. Festival director Sky Blue founded the event in 2006 to bring the local Latin dance community together, showcase the Australian dance industry and introduce new people to Latin music and culture. Two decades later, the Fiesta continues to combine an international program with a friendly, grassroots atmosphere. Full-event, beginner, day and party passes are available, allowing visitors to attend the complete festival or choose individual parts of the weekend.
