Nestled within the lush hinterlands of Byron Bay is Frida’s Field, a 120-acre regenerative farm and contemporary restaurant that offers a unique country dining experience. A scenic 10-minute drive through rolling green hills from the buzzing village of Bangalow, Frida’s Field is a place to unwind and take in the stunning hinterland views while enjoying a true taste of the Northern Rivers region.
A farm-to-table ethos is the heartbeat of Frida’s Field, with seasonal menus featuring an abundance of produce grown on-site using regenerative farming techniques supplemented with weekly trips to the Byron Farmers’ Market. The kitchen is run by multi-award-winning Chef Alastair Waddell and the quality of the dining experience is well recognised; being one of the few restaurants in the Byron region to have received a prestigious 2023 Good Food Guide Hat Award.
Frida’s Field hosts lunches every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; and commencing in November drinks and small bites will be available on Saturday afternoons as the sun sets over the farm’s lush pasture. Their lunches are a bountiful set menu feast which is shared amongst the members of your booking, fostering a connection and interaction. Expertly selected beverage pairings are available; plus an award-winning wine list which focuses on natural and minimal-intervention wines; in addition to a range of locally-made beers, spirits, and cocktails comprising ingredients grown on-site.
Beyond serving as a dining destination, Frida’s Field is also an event space available for exclusive hire for group bookings, corporate experiences, and weddings. The team can curate a range of experiences that allow guests to immerse themselves in farm life. From engaging farm tours and cooking classes to unique workshops and tree planting sessions, each event can be tailored to ensure a genuinely immersive, personalised affair.
At the core of Frida’s Field is a philosophy that food can be grown in a way that not only tastes amazing and is more nutritious, but can actively help reduce environmental degradation by sequestering carbon from the atmosphere, fostering biodiversity and improving soil health. To sum it up, Frida’s Field is not just a restaurant or a venue. It’s a family of food-lovers on a mission to nurture the earth while satiating appetites.
