McGregor’s Family Carnival is almost back, bringing its much-loved mix of rides, colour and riverfront fun to Banner Park. The carnival opens on Saturday 13 December 2025 and runs through to 25 January 2026, lighting up the Brunswick River foreshore every night across the school holidays.

This year comes with something special. All your favourite rides are returning along with a brand new dodgem track that has just arrived from Europe. It sets the scene for a big summer and an even bigger milestone ahead. In 2026, McGregor’s will celebrate 70 years of operating in Brunswick Heads since first opening in 1956. Celebrations for this milestone will roll out across the season.

There is more fun planned too. Every Tuesday night from 23 December, the carnival will host a weekly theme night. The themes begin with the 50s and 60s and continue through the years right up to 2026. Everyone is encouraged to dress up for the era. Best dressed winners receive unlimited ride wristbands for the night and each theme night comes with plenty of giveaways.

Entry is free and families can pay as they go for rides and games. It is an easy, low pressure night out by the river with something for all ages.
