E Bike the whole of The Northern Rivers Rail Trail, plus the cane fields and amazing rainforest beyond to end up at the award-winning Husk Farm Distillery for a well-earned gin & tonic on a self-guided E Bike tour with Beyond Byron E Bikes. Don’t just rent a bike, have an adventure!

The tour starts opposite the legendary Moo Moo roadhouse in Mooball (great place for breakfast). We set you with a great German made E Bike, a helmet, backpack and a custom smartphone app with turn-by-turn navigation & points of interest. After a short safety briefing, off you go into the forest to begin your adventure.

You start of riding the new The Northern Rivers Rail Trail, a 25km purpose-built walking and cycling track which winds through the Tweed hinterland following the old railway line. It features multiple old railway bridges, varied landscapes, great views and two tunnels (one 524m long with glowworms and microbats!). Along the way you will pass through a selection of hinterland villages and old stations including, Mooball, Burringbar, Stokers Siding and Dinbible with opportunities to stop for coffee, visit a cheese factory, take part in natural wine tasting, browse antique shops, visit a pottery and art galleries. In Murwillumbah you can stop for lunch in any number of great cafes or restaurants and visit the Tweed Regional Art gallery and the M Arts precinct.

From Murwillumbah you will climb with ease up onto the ridge through enchanting rainforest and enjoy amazing views over the plateau to the ocean, coming off the ridge you will descend through the stunning forest of Duroby nature reserve before arriving at the award-winning Husk Farm Distillery where you can relax in their grounds awaiting your pickup and return to the start location. There is always time for you to sample their signature squid Ink gin & tonic if you so desire.

The riding, especially with an E bike, is easy. The route is mostly off road with other sections being on quiet country roads through the rainforest or cane fields. If you can ride a bike you can do this tour.
